Why did I make this purchase? I decided on this purchase in the course of looking for a product to stabilize the application of eye shadows and liners. The product Duraline, which I now own as well, had been recommended, and various writers had pointed to its containing as a primary ingredient the chemical Isododecane. Because I found the Balm's product on iHerb with this as its first ingredient, I decided to give it a try. Changing weather, allergies, and a bit of sag around the lids have all conspired to make keeping eye products in place throughout the day a challenge. What was I hoping for in this product? What I was looking for in this item was a deterrent to creasing and running of eyeshadows due to lid folds and tear production. I hoped to keep otherwise good products where I put them upon application. What was my experience? It has been positive. I have extremely sensitive skin and eyes, so I tested the product on the back of my hand and did not experience any stinging over a several-hour period. Plucking up my courage, on the next day I applied the product to one lid after cleansing and found that there was no stinging or tear production then. After giving things a few minutes to go awry - just in case - I also applied the primer to the other lid. I did not experience any sensitization. I wore it without any other eye products for the sake of fairness. Moving on to the next day, I applied the primer, waited for it to dry thoroughly (very important), then applied a reliable shadow. The product remained in place throughout the day. I was very pleased and did not suffer an allergic reaction. Just to press the envelope, I went through the same process as above on a fourth day but using a beautiful-in-the-pan-but-a-disaster-on-the-lid Lancome shadow long lingering in my collection because...well, a disaster on the lid (shatters on application, stings the eyes, then falls off). After 12 hours and a walk outdoors through the pollen, it remained in place. This was an unexpectedly good result. Would I recommend this product to someone else? Yes. Will I purchase this product again? Yes.
